Engineers on the ground will remotely orchestrate a complex sequence of deployments in the hours and days immediately after the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope. This animation shows the nominal sequence for these deployments.

Kosmický dalekohled Jamese Webba představuje naprostou špičku v oboru kosmických observatoří. Právě kvůli své výjimečnosti a pokročilým systémům se jeho start mnohokrát odložil a také výrazně prodražil. Čekání se ale vyplatilo. 25. prosince 2021 se do kosmického prostoru dostal nejsložitější a také nejdražší projekt v dějinách kosmonautiky. Astronomové se již nemohou dočkat jeho přelomových objevů.

Dušan Majer je český odborník na kosmonautiku. Je šéfredaktorem úspěšného českého blogu o kosmonautice a autorem pořadů Vesmírné výzvy a Dobývání vesmíru, které vycházely na internetové televizi Stream.cz. V současnosti působí na internetové televizi. Za svoji činnost obdržel několikrát cenu Akademie věd České republiky za popularizaci vědy.

Ing. Petr Dvořák, Ph.D. je vědecký pracovník a vysokoškolský pedagog působící ve Středoevropském technologickém institutu CEITEC a na FSI Vysokého učení technického v Brně. Vedle výzkumu v oblasti nanotechnologií se věnuje popularizaci přírodních věd, zejména pak astronomie a astrofyziky. Petr Dvořák je členem Jihlavské astronomické společnosti a České astronomické společnosti.

NASA zahájila dlouhý proces zaostřování teleskopu Jamese Webba. Největší dalekohled v historii lidstva teď bude hýbat svými osmnácti zrcadly, aby se dostala do správných pozic. Model ve vysílání Televizních novin představila Kateřina Vodvářková.

Teleskop bude pořizovat snímky pouze v infračerveném oboru, fotografické snímky to nebudou. A nevystřídá ihned Hubbleův dalekohled, ten má před sebou zatím ještě hodně práce a dlouhou životnost.

Minulý rok odstartovalo do kosmického prostoru zatím nejlepší zařízení pro pozorování vzdáleného kosmu v historii, teleskop Jamese Webba. V čem je teleskop unikátní? Kam až dohlédne? Proč je někdy nezbytné vyslat teleskop nahoru? A jak je vůbec velký v porovnání s jinými?

It’s been discovered that there are a lot of weird and unusual things happening on Jupiter that we didn’t know about.

The first infrared images from the James Webb Space Telescope were studied and new structures have been found within Jupiter's iconic Great Red Spot; a storm so massive and powerful its winds move at speeds of 270 to 425 miles per hour [430 to 680 kilometers per hour] three-and-a-half times faster than a powerful F4 tornado, and big enough to engulf our entire planet at once.

Jupiter’s Great Red Spot is a massive storm that’s been swirling for centuries. But lately, it’s been found that this enormous storm isn’t as stable as it once seemed. It’s wobbling, almost shaking, and its size has been fluctuating in ways that are pretty surprising.

Here’s the first Nintendo Switch 2 trailer, revealing the greatly anticipated new Nintendo Switch console. Get a look at the Switch 2 reveal trailer and learn more about the handheld console in this hardware-focused Nintendo Switch 2 announcement. The Nintendo Switch 2 release date is 2025.

It’s been a long wait, but now that the Nintendo Switch 2025 announcement is finally here, we can see some Nintendo Switch 2 gameplay featuring Switch 2 Mario Kart. Could this be Mario Kart 9? The new Switch 2 trailer also gives us a peek at the Switch 2 Joycon, Switch 2 ports, Switch 2 screen, and more. There's currently few Nintendo Switch 2 details on the Switch 2 specs, but it's confirmed that Nintendo Switch 2 is backwards compatible and plays both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games. However, certain Nintendo Switch titles may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. There will also be new Switch 2 exclusive games on the way, with more Nintendo news on Switch 2 games shared at a later date.

We'll learn more about the Switch 2 console at the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on April 2, 2025.
